Best 21st!!! 31/08/2008
First of all, thank you everyone who wished me, from Malaysia, Australia, and NZ, through, text, facebook and friendster. Next, thanks Jiji and Nai Chen for planning for my surprise party. Thank you everyone who came, Caroline, Jiji, Nai Chen, John, Matt, Nisha, Pat, Eugene, Jace, Arvin, May, Bart, Rastra, Hana, Felicia, Sony, Tatsuya Kawazoe(TK), Chew Wen,and Zong Yu; and Mikey, Xiu, Hui and Mango, who came later. Thanks for the lovely presents from Mikey, Jace and Eugene, Jiji, May CN, Nai Chen. Thanks for the lovely cheesecake from Pat and the rest. Thanks for the drinks that was bought for me, the treat for my dinner, the pool and the karaoke.
This years' birthday was really simple, which is good as I didn't really want anything big. Have been going for parties, clubs and drinking all night, trying to get drunk for my birthday here in NZ. Just felt like I grew a year older, becoming more mature and acting like an adult. Now that I am already 21, it's time for me to make the right decision for myself, no more relying on anybody.
The surprise party held by my friends was great, although found out by me just minutes before entering the restaurant. It's hilarious when Jiji found out someone texted me, telling that she can't come for the party tonight and I asked her, "What party?" She said, " You had a party and you didn't invite me?" Lol... Silly Mango, she was the one who spoilt the surprise. But anyhow, I was still surprise that so many people came as I didn't really aspect so many people.
The reason why I didn't want to do anything this year it's because its my 21st, and I want to celebrate with my parents and relatives and also my friends back in Malaysia. Its been 3 years now since I left in 2006, that I celebrated my birthday away from home. I used to go for Merdeka countdown a day before and my friends will celebrate with me and on my birthday, I will go for dinner with my parents and my aunt, cousins and niece. I really miss those days. Thanks for calling me from home, Mom, aunt, cousins and my niece and also Dad, calling from China.
The party made me felt like home, seriously! Which made me think of home more, missing home so much more now. I wondered, " What if my friends didn't plan a party for me? What will I feel by the end of the day? Will I regret for not celebrating my 21st? " But I am glad that I don't need to think about all this now. Wont regret for having all you guys as my friends, its really been a pleasure meeting all of you guys in NZ, although most of you guys are Msian, and some Sporeans, few Japanese and Indonesians, Will definitely remember all of you all, my whole life!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Ok, that's all about my birthday. The past week was great too! Semester break began on the 23rd August, which was my mom's birthday. Happy birthday! That day, I danced for Unity and Diversity. I know, I know!! You guys from Msia will be really surprise right? Yes! I really did dance, ok! Will link the video soon when it is being upload.
Then Sunday and Monday was just a rest day for me, Tuesday was cleaning up day and Wednesday was baking day!! That day I tried making chocolate chip almond cookies and also egg tarts!!! It was so yummy, not to praise myself but my friend all said it was nice. Anyhow, I still need to improve on my pastry but the egg filling was really soft. YUM!! Will make again if I have that time cause it was really time consuming.
Thursday was snowboarding day!! Highlight of the week! It was really fun, although I kept falling over every time I tried to stop, just the same when I tried skiing last time in China and Korea. Snowboarding was so much harder than skiing and it was really tiring, trying to get up with 2 legs strapped on the board but once you got hold of it, was easy as. Will definitely go again next year!
Friday, I decided to follow some of my friends up to Waitomo Caves and Hamilton for 2 days. It was really a last minute decision. Just want to hang out with and have nice food in Hamilton. Didn't go for any activity there but the guys went black water rafting and girls went to the caves to see glow worms.
So, that's one week of holiday gone, and one more week to go. Monday to Wednesday, just going to finish up my report which is due on 1st day after the break and also cleaning up my possum skull, which is part of my project. Then Thursday, will be going down to Wellington till Saturday and Sunday, just prepare myself to go for classes again, and also tests and assignments.
Thank you again!!! Miss you guys back home! And to my best friend, " Gurl, you have a safe trip to UK, ok? I will really miss you and I wont be seeing you for the next 2 years. Keep in touch all the time and take good care of yourself. Luv Ya!!!! *hugs and kisses* XOXO!!!
Cheers!
p.s. My birthday wish this year was different from the previous wishes. This year I hope that I will study hard and pass all my exams. Hope that everyone will stay happy and healthy all the time. And also, thank you for having so many lovely friends.
